Mladá maliarka Lucia Tallová (1985) absolvovala štúdium v ateliéri Ivana Csudaia na bratislavskej VŠVU. Pomerne rýchlo si dokázala zadefinovať svoj osobný umelecký program, ktorý s istotou obhájila už na škole. Pracuje prevažne s motívom krajiny, ktorú podrobuje skúmaniu v rámci svojho charakteristického výtvarného poňatia. Krajina ako samostatná téma je pre súčasné vizuálne umenie znovuobjavenou oblasťou, ktorá výtvarníkom prináša stále nové výtvarné a tematické možnosti, a otvára sa zapojeniu do širších umeleckých kontextov. Autorkino podanie krajiny je sugestívnym pretlmočením vlastného pohľadu na výsek reality s mierne sentimentálnym či romantizujúcim nádychom. K dosiahnutiu špecifického vizuálneho efektu využíva najmä kontrast urbánneho alebo industriálneho prostredia s motívmi čipiek, ktorých raster prenáša na plátno vo viac či menej výrazných vrstvách. Obrazu tak vtláča stopu nostalgie a intimity, vyvoláva zdanie osobných spomienok spojených s chladnými, neosobnými miestami ako sú továrne, prístavy, paneláky, či opustené megalomanské komplexy budov. Svojskému spracovaniu emócií sa nevyhýba ani vo svojich kresbách, grafikách či lightboxoch, kde pracuje s typickým motívom čiernych kvapiek. Tie môžu symbolizovať tak ženský plač (roztečenú maskaru), ako aj znečistený dážď vo veľkomestách. Lucia Tallová sa nebráni motívom, ktoré zvykneme považovať za výsostne ženské, nežné a estetizujúce. Možno aj preto má jej maľba v rámci slovenského mladého umenia svoje nezameniteľné miesto. Okrem pozornosti, ktorú jej venujú galérie a odborné časopisy (naposledy Profil súčasného výtvarného umenia) je jej tvorba oceňovaná aj v rámci významných umeleckých súťaží (Strabag Art Award a VÚB maľba roka).

Lucia Tallová (1985) is a young painter who studied in Ivan Csudai’s studio at the Fine Arts Academy in Bratislava. She defined her artistic direction early on, starting to focus her creative explorations and to defend her stance while still a student at university. Lucia works with landscape motifs, which have become the primary subject of her artistic investigations, and her efforts have resulted in a very unique artistic expression of this subject matter. Landscape as an independent theme is a newly re-discovered field of contemporary visual art. It has always offered ever new artistic and thematic options, and now it is gradually expanding into ever wider artistic contexts. This artist’s presentation of landscape is a suggestive interpretation of her personal view of this aspect of reality, with a slightly sentimental or romanticizing touch. Ms. Tallova mainly uses the contrast of urban or industrial environments with the motif of lace, the raster of which she transfers to the canvas in more or less distinct layers. This achieves unique visual effects, as if she has stamped her paintings with a touch of nostalgia and intimacy, inducing in the viewer an emotional apprehension of the apparent existence of intimate personal memories imprinted on the cold, impersonal backgrounds of locales such as factories, ports, concrete apartment blocks, or abandoned megalomaniacal building complexes. In her drawings, graphics and light boxes, she also processes emotions in her own, highly unique way, working with the motif of black drops, a frequent image in her works. The drops can symbolize a woman’s crying (melted mascara) but also polluted rain in big cities. Lucia Tallová does not avoid motifs that are usually considered exclusively feminine, gentle and aestheticizing. Perhaps that is why her paintings have now assumed an irreplaceable role among the collective works of young Slovak artists. In addition to the attention she receives from galleries and magazines (the latest article was in The Profile of Contemporary Fine Art), her artwork has received awards in distinguished art contests (e.g., the Strabag Art Award and the VUB Painting of the Year)
