Vážení hostia, dovoľte, aby som Vás v mene Bank of The Future Limited oficiálne privítal na otvorení sídla našej nadnárodnej spoločnosti v Banskej Štiavnici. Bank of The Future Limited dlhodobo pracuje na zriadení pobočiek po celom svete. Dnes sme ale mimoriadne hrdí, že sa naše dlhoročné sny menia na skutočnosť a my otvárame svoje hlavné sídlo práve v Banskej Štiavnici. V meste známom svojou bohatou históriou. V meste s dlhoročnou tradíciou jedinečného prepájania priemyslu, vzdelávania a kultúry. A oddnes bude Banská Štiavnica aj centrom finančného sektora.

Autorom výtvarného spracovania, vízie, ale aj dlhodobej stratégie našej banky je svetoznámy umelec Roland Farkas. Priestory nám láskavo poskytla významná miestna Galéria Schemnitz.

Utečencov víta úvodným videom Refugees Welcome. Predstaví vám svoj dlhodobý výskumný projekt Change, v ktorom experimentoval so zmenárenským biznisom a systematicky testoval permanentnú stratu hodnoty peňazí. V špeciálnom projekte New World Exchange si budete môcť z vašich vlastných bankoviek vytvoriť originál umeleckých diel bez toho, aby ste ich znehodnotili. Dokonalé znehodnotenie naopak Farkas predvádza vo videu Whitewash. Je návodom ako dokonale oprať vaše peniaze (dočista dočista). A v závere výstavy sa pozriete priamo do očí osobám zobrazeným na maďarských bankovkách.

Kto je Roland Farkas?

Roland Farkas je hravý multimediálny umelec používajúci site specific a context sensitive stratégie vo svojej tvorbe. Predstavuje v nej témy z oblastí ako je spoločenský aktivizmus, angažované umenie, ekologický aktivizmus, utečenecká kríza a ďalšie.

Narodil sa v roku 1975 v Komárne, dnes žije a pracuje v Budapešti. Začiatky jeho profesionálneho pôsobenia (vzdelanie + prvé výstavy) sú zviazané so Slovenskom, v posledných rokoch však na Slovensku prakticky vôbec nevystavoval. Výsledky svojej tvorivej činnosti prezentoval viac v zahraničí, napríklad vo Fínsku, Kórei, Holandsku, Argentíne a inde.

Dear guests, allow me, please, on behalf of the Bank of The Future Limited, to welcome you to the opening of the headquarters of our corporation in Banská Štiavnica. Bank of The Future Limited has been working on establishing its branches all over the world for a long time; and finally, today, we are extremely proud to see that our dreams are coming true, and we are opening the head office of our corporation here, in Banská Štiavnica. A town known for its rich history. A town with a long-term tradition of making unique connections between industry, education, and culture. And from today, a centre of the financial sector as well.

The originator of our Bank’s artistic design and vision, as well as its long-term strategy, is the world-famous artist Roland Farkas. The premises were kindly bestowed by the well-known, Štiavnica-based Schemnitz Gallery.

So, what has Roland Farkas prepared for you in the headquarters of the Bank of The Future?

He welcomes refugees with his introductory video, Refugees Welcome. He presents his long-term research project, Change, in which Roland experiments with the money exchange business and systematically tests the ongoing loss of the value of money. In a special project, entitled New World Exchange, you will have a chance to make an original artwork from your own bank notes without depreciating them. On the other hand, Roland Farkas presents a perfect depreciation in the Whitewash video. It is a manual on how to perfectly launder your money (whitewash it). To conclude the tour of the headquarters, you will look directly into the eyes of persons depicted on Hungarian banknotes.

Who is Roland Farkas?

Roland Farkas is a playful multi-media artist. He uses site specific and context sensitive strategies in his work, presenting topics from social activism, committed art, ecological activism, the refugee crisis, and others.

He was born in Komárno in 1975. Today, he lives and works in Budapest. The beginnings of his professional life (education + first exhibitions) are linked with Slovakia; however, he has basically not exhibited his artwork here for the last few years. He has been presenting the results of his work mostly abroad; for example, in Finland, Korea, the Netherlands, Argentina, and elsewhere.
